Translation as Creative Process Conference

Performance and Embodied Research Colloquium is co-sponsoring the Translation as Creative Process Conference, April 12-15, 2012 in collaboration with Adam Versenyi and University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s Department of Dramatic Art and Joseph Megel and The Process Series (also housed at UNC-CH.
The Conference will be organized following the “Open Space” model in which there are no prepared papers or presentations, but every person attending can propose a topic for discussion. Further information will be provided on the first day of the conference. In addition to these “Open Space” session there will be open rehearsals, and nightly performances and post-performance discussions with the performers, translators/adapters of the plays.

- Vengeance Can Wait by Yukiko Motoya (translated by Kyoko Yoshida and Andy Bragen),
- The Ballad of the Pine Tree Killer by Rebekka Kricheldorf (translated by Neil Blackadder), and
- Apocolypse Tomorrow by Richard Monti (translated by Jean Graham-Jones).
