John Miles Foley (1947-2012) was a professor in the classics and English departments at the University of Missouri, founder of the journal Oral Tradition, and director of the Center for Studies in Oral Tradition. On numerous occasions he participated in the SBL annual meeting. This session is a tribute to his contributions to the study of biblical literature.
